Director Oliver Stone has been called a fascist, a socialist, a commie, an anti-semite and any other anti-American synonym you can find on Dictionary.com. However, the vitriol isn’t — at least not completely — caused by the films he’s made; it’s because of the WTF statements that come out of his mouth.
Stone has been known to wax poetic on everything from Hitler to Hugo Chavez. He doesn’t care what you think of him — as he said himself, in a 2004 interview with Esquire, “”I’m not a great man. I’m a f****n’ man like you, struggling through the goddamn day” — the guy just speaks his mind , usually without a filter.
With his newest film, “Savages,” Stone is letting loose once again, this time about America’s war on drugs (the movie follows the fight between two pot dealers and the Mexican cartel). Yes, after making dozens of memorable movies (“Platoon,” “JFK,” “Born on the Fourth of July,” Wall Street”) Oliver Stone still has a lot to say.
Let’s take a look at some of Stone’s most ridiculous, absurd, and (sometimes) enlightening, quotes.
